Terms of Use
Effective Date: 11 July 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the UNIUS mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). The Services are operated by UNIUS LLP ("UNIUS", "we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
The Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old and are located in India. By using UNIUS, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and will use the Services only in India unless we expressly expand availability.
You may not use the Services if we have previously suspended or removed your account for violating these Terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law.
2. Nature of UNIUS
UNIUS is a community-driven platform for nearby people to discover voluntary help requests, local events, people nearby, and related conversations. UNIUS is designed for respectful, non-commercial, local community interactions.
UNIUS is not a marketplace for paid services, classified listings, professional services, dating, commercial promotion, political campaigning, religious argument, emergency response, or business advertising. All help and events on UNIUS must be voluntary, non-commercial, and free for users.
UNIUS does not employ, supervise, endorse, verify the conduct of, or guarantee any user. Profile details, references, badges, and other trust signals are provided for context only and are not warranties of safety, reliability, identity, character, skill, or suitability.
3. Account Registration and Security
To use key features, you may need to create an account and provide accurate account and profile information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide information that is truthful, current, and not misleading. You must not impersonate another person, create accounts for others without authorization, use false identity information, or use UNIUS to misrepresent who you are.
If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, you must contact us promptly at support@unius.in.
4. Location-Based Discovery
UNIUS uses location information to help users discover nearby help requests, events, and people. The Services may use accurate coordinates for distance calculation and discovery logic, but other users are shown only a broader public area label or approximate distance as designed in the app.
You must not use UNIUS to track, stalk, monitor, harass, or locate another person. You should share exact address details, flat numbers, or highly specific meeting information only when you choose to do so in a relevant chat and only when it is safe and appropriate.
If you post a help request or event, the request or event may remain associated with the location selected at the time of posting. Updating your current location later does not automatically change the location of past posts, unless the app expressly provides an edit option and you use it.
5. Help Requests and Offers
Users may create public help requests, send direct private help requests, and respond to requests posted by others. Help requests must be genuine, lawful, respectful, and non-commercial.
When offering or requesting help, you agree to:
Describe the request honestly and clearly.
Respect the other person’s time, boundaries, privacy, and decision to accept or decline.
Coordinate safely and avoid pressuring others to meet, share personal details, or continue communication.
Avoid requests involving illegal activity, paid work, regulated professional advice, emergency response, harassment, exploitation, or unsafe conduct.
A requester may accept or decline one or more offers. Accepted users may coordinate through direct chat or a help group, depending on the interaction. Declining a request or offer should be done respectfully.
6. Events
Users may create and join local events through UNIUS. Events must be free, lawful, respectful, and community-oriented. Paid events, ticketed events, commercial promotions, business lead generation, paid workshops, and fundraising or donation-driven events are not allowed unless UNIUS expressly permits them in writing.
Event creators are responsible for the event information they provide, including title, description, location, time, capacity, attendee rules, and any changes or cancellations. Event creators must not mislead attendees or create events that are unsafe, discriminatory, illegal, or commercial in nature.
Events may be open or approval-based. For approval-based events, the organizer may approve or decline join requests. Once a user joins or is approved, event group communication may become available as designed in the app.
7. Messaging, Groups, and Photos
UNIUS provides direct chats, help group chats, and event group chats to support coordination. You are responsible for the messages, photos, and other content you send.
You must not send or upload content that is illegal, threatening, abusive, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, deceptive, spammy, promotional, or invasive of another person’s privacy. You must not share another person’s personal information, photos, or private messages without appropriate permission.
Messages may not be editable after sending. The app may allow users to delete or hide a chat from their own view, but this may not delete the content from the other participant’s view or from records retained for safety, security, legal, or moderation purposes.
8. References and Recommendations
UNIUS may allow users to write references or recommendations after completed help interactions or personal interactions. References are intended to help the community understand prior interactions and build trust.
By submitting a reference, you confirm that it is truthful, based on your own experience, respectful, and not defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, retaliatory, promotional, or misleading. References may become visible on the receiver’s profile according to the app’s visibility rules, including visibility after both parties write references or after a waiting period where applicable.
References may not be editable or removable by the writer or receiver after submission. UNIUS may review, restrict, remove, or retain references where required for safety, moderation, legal compliance, or enforcement.
9. Community Guidelines and Prohibited Conduct
UNIUS is built for respectful local community interactions. You agree not to use the Services to:
Harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, shame, exploit, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone.
Post hate speech, sexually explicit content, illegal content, violent content, or content that promotes self-harm or harm to others.
Offer, request, promote, or arrange paid services, commissions, tips, donations, business promotions, advertisements, sales, or commercial transactions.
Use UNIUS as a dating service, classified listing service, political forum, religious argument forum, gossip channel, or spam channel.
Send repetitive, vague, manipulative, misleading, or attention-seeking posts that disrupt the community.
Misrepresent identity, qualifications, location, relationship, availability, or intent.
Collect, scrape, copy, export, or misuse user data, profiles, messages, references, photos, or location information.
Attempt to bypass security, access restrictions, rate limits, blocks, reports, moderation systems, or technical protections.
Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the Services, or use the Services in a way that harms UNIUS or other users.
10. Safety and Offline Interactions
UNIUS is not an emergency service. Do not use UNIUS for urgent medical, police, fire, rescue, or life-threatening situations. Contact the appropriate emergency services directly.
Any meeting, help exchange, event, or offline interaction is arranged between users at their own discretion and risk. You are responsible for exercising judgment, setting boundaries, coordinating safely, and deciding whether to meet or interact with another user.
UNIUS is not responsible for the conduct, statements, omissions, actions, skills, reliability, safety, suitability, or offline behavior of users. If you feel unsafe or believe someone has violated these Terms, you should use the report or block features where available and contact appropriate authorities where necessary.
11. Reports, Blocking, Moderation, and Enforcement
UNIUS may provide reporting and blocking features. Reports may include reasons, notes, screenshots, or photo evidence. Reports are used for safety, moderation, compliance, and enforcement and are not public.
We may, at our discretion, review content or conduct, restrict features, remove content, hide posts, lock chats, preserve records, suspend or terminate accounts, prevent re-registration, or take other safety or enforcement actions. We may do so with or without notice where we consider it necessary to protect users, UNIUS, legal compliance, or the integrity of the Services.
Blocking a user may restrict direct communication and visibility as designed in the app. Past messages may remain visible to preserve context, safety records, or user history.
12. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to UNIUS, including profile content, posts, messages, photos, event details, references, reports, and other materials ("User Content").
By submitting User Content, you grant UNIUS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, transmit, process, moderate, adapt for technical formatting, and otherwise use the User Content as necessary to operate, provide, protect, improve, and enforce the Services.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your User Content and that your User Content does not violate these Terms, any law, or any third party’s rights.
13. UNIUS Intellectual Property
The UNIUS name, logo, interface, software, design, features, graphics, trademarks, and related materials are owned by or licensed to UNIUS. Except as expressly allowed by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from any part of the Services.
14. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the UNIUS Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you also acknowledge the processing of information described in that policy, including information used for account creation, nearby discovery, safety, messaging, reporting, moderation, and service operation.
15. Third-Party Services and App Stores
The Services may rely on third-party infrastructure, authentication, storage, maps or geocoding, hosting, app distribution, device operating systems, and other service providers. Your use of app stores, operating systems, and third-party services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.
UNIUS is responsible for the Services, subject to these Terms, but is not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
16. Account Deletion, Suspension, and Termination
You may request deletion of your account and personal data through the app or by contacting us, subject to identity verification, legal requirements, safety needs, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and technical limitations.
Deleting an account may remove or anonymize certain profile information, but some records may be retained where necessary, including records relating to safety, reports, legal compliance, security, transaction-free community history, or moderation. Content visible to other users, such as past chat context or references, may be handled according to the app rules and applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, create risk to users or UNIUS, misuse the Services, or if required by law.
17. No Warranties
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, UNIUS disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, reliability, safety, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not guarantee that nearby discovery will always be accurate, that any user will respond, that a help request or event will happen, that any user is trustworthy or safe, or that any offline interaction will meet your expectations.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, UNIUS LLP, its partners, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill, reputation, opportunity, or profits arising from or related to the Services.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, UNIUS will not be liable for user conduct, offline meetings, events, help exchanges, messages, references, reports, or content created by users. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
19. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UNIUS LLP, its partners, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to your use of the Services, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your interaction with another user.
20. Changes to the Services or Terms
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the app, website, or other appropriate means.
Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services.
21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Services.
Before starting formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at support@unius.in and attempt to resolve the matter in good faith, unless urgent legal relief is required or applicable law provides otherwise.
